{"id":7820,"date":"2006-06-19T18:08:00","date_gmt":"2006-06-19T18:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/surfpup.net\/blog\/?p=7820"},"modified":"2026-04-15T18:09:58","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T18:09:58","slug":"the-unavoidable-silence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/surfpup.net\/blog\/2006\/06\/19\/the-unavoidable-silence\/","title":{"rendered":"The Unavoidable Silence"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">I stare down at Earth every single day.<br>I watch it grow and I watch it decay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">I give it warmth and I give it light.<br>I constantly help it sustain life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">I laugh as the humans fight amongst themselves,<br>wondering when the Earth will turn into Hell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">They fight many battles and many wars.<br>Their entire existence, I abhor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">I&#8217;m very surprised that they&#8217;re still alive.<br>It is amazing how they have survived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Unfortunately for them, I am growing old,<br>slowly and steadily getting more and more cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Humans quickly try to fly out into space,<br>but the panic causes them to make mistakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Their space shuttle never makes it off the ground.<br>The hopelessness and despair become profound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Earth and it&#8217;s inhabitants will soon die.<br>I can already hear their desperate cries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The planet gives off one last brooding lament,<br>and the galaxy finally goes silent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I stare down at Earth every single day.I watch it grow and I watch it decay.
