Time to start the game once more,
On Steam I launched Dark Souls once more.
I couldn’t go back where I’d begun,
So leveling up was job number one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The only thing was my Estus Flask\u2014
With only five, it did its task.
It worked alright, though not the best;
A little more would help the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At Firelink Shrine, the count was ten,
But other bonfires gave five again.
So I knew before too long,
I’d need to make my flask more strong!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I rested by the bonfire’s light,
Preparing for another fight.
One point in Endurance made me last,
Two in Strength to strike more fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Crestfallen Warrior stood nearby,
A few short steps beneath the sky.
I spoke with him, then looked around,
To see what secrets could be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Down below, the lift was there,
But ghosts still haunted everywhere.
That path could wait another day\u2014
I wasn’t going there today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Straight ahead lay skeletons below,
Beneath the ground where shadows grow.
I dropped on down and grabbed my prize\u2014
A Large Soul of the Lost Undead, my prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But two buried skeletons sprang to life,
Ready at once to start the strife!
So back I ran to the bonfire’s flame,
To reset the world and start again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I had to return, there was more to find,
So off I went with a focused mind.
Behind the graves I claimed once more,
A Soul of a Lost Undead in store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I walked ahead into the graves,
Where skeletons slept beneath the caves.
Once again they rose from underground,
Their rattling bones the only sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I dashed ahead without a pause,
And grabbed another prize because
A Large Soul of the Lost Undead
Was waiting just a bit ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then even more came back to life,
Big skeletons joined the fight.
I ran much faster through the land,
To grab the mighty Zweihander!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The skeletons struck me once or twice,
Their heavy blows were far from nice.
I caught the edge of a grave instead,
Couldn’t escape\u2014and then was dead!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s okay\u2014I had no souls to lose,
But gained a brand-new weapon to use!
I checked the Zweihander with delight,
Then laughed\u2014it wasn’t time quite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Its requirements were much too high:
Twenty-four Strength to even try,
With ten Dexterity as well\u2014
I’d need more Strength before it fell!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Up above stood Petrus, calm,
From Thorolund with peaceful charm.
I listened closely to his tale,
And earned a Copper Coin as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I checked the shop to see the stock,
With miracles behind the lock.
The Faith spells looked both strong and bright,
But cost too much for me to buy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I also found, not far away,
A Soul of a Lost Undead that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I searched for yet another lever,
But couldn’t seem to find it ever.
It must be waiting up above,
Beyond the paths I’d yet to trod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Below, however, I looked around,
And found a way down to the bottom.
Three wooden chests were waiting there,
Still unopened, full of gear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Homeward Bone was mine to keep,
If danger came, I’d safely leap.
Back to the bonfire safe once more,
A handy item I adore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Morning Star was next to claim,
But it just wasn’t my kind of game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Talisman came next in line,
For Faith-based miracles, pure and fine.
But Homeward is the spell I’d choose,
The one I’d rather never lose!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cracked Red Eye Orbs came next to see,
For invading other players\u2014not for me.
I don’t plan on using them at all,
So they’ll just stay within my haul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then Lloyd’s Talisman joined the rest,
Though I haven’t put it to the test.
Maybe someday I’ll give it a try,
And see if it’s worth using by and by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I climbed down farther, nice and slow,
Where piles of skeletons lay below.
At first they seemed as still as stone,
Then two awoke with rattling bones!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They rushed at me with sword in hand,
Much faster than I’d ever planned.
I turned and ran with all my might,
Back to the bonfire’s warming light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But there was one more thing to do\u2014
The skeletons came charging through!
I couldn’t sit or safely rest,
Until I’d put them to the test.
So I fought them quickly, one by one,
Before my chance to heal was gone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyways, there were no enemies nearby,
So I sat by the bonfire for a while.
For now, I’ll bring this tale to rest,
