Shades Of Black

The lights of a thousand stars diminish,
as I walk slowly through this desolate land.
A perpetual path of destruction lies before me,
dead bodies piled up everywhere for miles and miles.
I see the gray bare ground covered in the rubble of gray buildings,
and a cloudy gray sky surrounding the Earth’s atmosphere.
A few puddles of black blood here and there
accentuate the horrible stench of death.
There is no color here.
All these shades of black are the result of a disaster.

A disaster made by my own hands.
